Dear Coach, BC Hockey would like to offer you the opportunity to register in the first ever BC Hockey Skills Summit for coaches. This three day seminar in Abbotsford, BC will break down the key components of our game and elaborate on the best practices for teaching these skills to Novice, Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam, Midget and Jr teams. Each individual/team skill has been outlined in a Hockey Canada resource package and will be instructed to the delegates by Hockey Canada/BC Hockey trained Course Conductors. The weekend will feature both on and off ice sessions at the University of the Fraser Valley and Matsqui Recreation Centre. Each group will be instructed on the following skills: · Creating Offense/Developing Defensemen · Puck Control/Skating · Creative thinking/Small Area Games · Special Teams The Skills Summit has been identified as “what coaches want” in that it breaks down the skills and tactics of the game and teaches coaches how to incorporate them into their practices. This will also be an opportunity for Coaches from around the Province to share what they do for specific skills. Registration is limited, so please visit the Skills Summit Registration page.
